Dear musicians and friends,
After a ten year run at Sullivan's Steak House in Palm Desert the management has decided to turn his back on the head office and is phasing out all jazz. We at one time had jazz musicians working there 7 nights a week and the place was always full. The current manager has decided to methodically remove each of the 15 jazz musicians one at a time over the last 6 months and Sullivan's Logo and Slogan says "Steaks, Martinis, and Jazz" yet jazz has be removed from this Sullivan's. As a friend and supporter of jazz, we the musicians of Sullivans ask you to go to the link below and write a brief complaint about the current music policy at Palm Desert Sullivan's. As jazz gets harder and harder to book we must all join in and let our voice be heard at least at this small grass roots level. This really means a great deal to those of us who have lost our jobs and who are still hanging on by a thread at Sullivan's playing our kind of music , Jazz. Please help out the entire jazz community of the desert by sending a short letter to Sullivan's See link below to show your support of jazz.
http://www.sullivansteakhouse.com/contact_us.php
Thanks,
Jeff Stover, Joe Litteri, Don Rice, Dan Flahive, Gene Stone, Larry flahive and all other musicians who have worked for and then been fired by Sullivans.

Paul Elia at Jakes in the Indian Wells Hotel. I always bring my friends to see him and they adored him. He works the charm for the ladies and they love it. I know it is the same show and I have seen it 8 times since I moved to the desert this June. Yet it is entertaining and he is very good and charming as hell. It makes me look good when I show my friends the great entertainment in the desert. Also Gennine Jackson knocked the socks off my friends this weekend...she is at Blame on Midnight, what a find...Thanks

Norm and Trish,
Thanks for helping to spread the word and for posting all the great photos taken at Bruce Fessier's Surprise 30th Anniversary with the Desert Sun Party and also the Palm Springs Classic Jazz Festival.
Both were well attended events and a great way to "Keep the Music Playing" in our area. Thanks Herb and Art for sharing your photos with everyone.

I am trying to find out if a well known Jazz singer by the name of Johnny Prophet (Profeta)still performs/lives in La Quinta or if he may have passed away? He would be about 83 years old.

We had a great Jazz Festival this year! Thanks to those who came out to support the music and especially the musicians, volunteers and staff that made the event very special. Next year is already being planned for March 20 thru 22, 2009. A film crew from L.A. came out on Friday to shoot some film for a documentary about the Festival, we'll keep you posted on that. As we say: "Keep The Music PLaying!"

We are so lucky to have this grande dame of Jazz, Toni Harper, living in our Valley and starting to sing again after retiring for 42 years to bring up family. She is back and her voice is fabulous.

You have a great site with the type of information that visiting jazz fans such as my wife and I look for and need ... BUT, I could not find your site on my own. I tried several different combinations of jazz and palm springs etc. but never did get to your site. A local jazz fan had to direct me to it. Perhaps you could make yourself more visable with more links or? And, it would be great to have a section that gave a "thumbnail" bio of the local musicians that are regularly performing in the valley. Perhaps they could be encouraged to write a bio themselves and submit it to you. Thanks again for your efforts. Your site makes it much easier for visitors to locate the jazz venues in town. Thank you so much for the great reviews. As you know, being a musician these days is much akin to being an endangered spieces. And anytime they can be viewed in their natural habitat it's a good thing.

First of all thanks for keeping folk's informed as to where all the good jazz is. It's always nice when someone takes the time to care. It's greatly appreciated. With that being said, I would like to inform you of a new Jazz Brunch at Colony Palms Hotel, 572 N. Indian Canyon, Palm Springs....760-969-1818 It's really "cool" poolside jazz and an awesome vibe! Gino Antanucci, piano; Tibor Lesko, bass; Andy Fraga Jr, drums; and I'll be singing.. It's kind of a coming out of hiding jazz gig for me. Been doing mostly rock and roll variety gigs so looking forward to reuniting with my old accompanist Gino and the guys 'poolside" at this new scene. Thanks for your hard work.

This site is a great addition to the local entertainment scene. This will really get the word out and get some jazz fans into these establishments. This also helps all bands with little or no bujget get some advertisment and get some audiences. thanks for creating the site and I wish for its success.
